Some Essentials things to pack for your trip to Taiwan to make life easier.

Plug

Taiwan uses Type A (two flat, parallel pins) and Type B plugs (two flat pins with a round grounding pin, also fits Type A plugs), with a 110V supply voltage and 60Hz frequency.

Power Bank

Power banks are allowed in Taiwan. On flights, power banks and spare lithium batteries are prohibited in checked baggage and must be carried in carry-on baggage. Please recheck the regulations of each airline and transit airport to ensure a smooth travel experience.

Finances

Preparing enough cash for the first month, around NTD 15,000 – NTD 20,000, is recommended. Most outlets in Taiwan accept international debit and credit cards, such as VISA, Mastercard, JCB, and American Express, as well as Apple Pay and LINE Pay. It is strongly recommended that you confirm with your local bank whether your account is authorized to make transactions abroad, including ATM services.

Personal Medication

Clothing

There are four seasons in Taiwan, bringing a mix of warm & cool clothes will be great. Typically, the southern parts of Taiwan are warmer than the northern parts. For the latest conditions, please visit the Central Weather Administration website at https://www.cwa.gov.tw/eng/.

Personal Care Products

Although convenience stores are everywhere in Taiwan, it is recommended to bring a small pack of your personal care products, such as shampoo and skincare, especially if your skin is sensitive.

Apps

Apps like LINE, Google Maps, Pleco, and Uber are helpful.
